Who Are The Baby Boomers? You’ll Find Us Online, Making Money!

It’s a baby boomer world. The rest of you just live in it! Probably the best-known generation, they’re known for rejecting traditional values and redefining them. They have influenced the way children are raised, to senior care. By sheer numbers alone, they were a force to be reckoned with.

At almost 76 million boomers in the US alone, they have influenced the art’s, politics, workplaces, and lifestyles. But they’ve also been the most criticized, studied, and marketed to. Now it’s their turn to do some of the marketing, LOL.

So who are the baby boomers? They are career-focused, goal-oriented, vibrant, and certainly not your stereotypical seniors.

You’ll find many of them online, running their own very successful online businesses. It’s easier than you think, and I believe any of them can do this.

This is where and how I started my business!

What Are The Baby Boomer Years?

Born between 1946 and 1964, this generation has seen more changes in technology than any other. The early boomers endured war and financial insecurities. Women and people of colour have led the way to careers outside the home, and leadership positions.

Baby boomers are considered the wealthiest generation. I have to laugh at that! Being a baby boomer myself, I sure don’t feel wealthy, lol. And maybe it’s because we’re also known as the sandwich generation.

Many find themselves raising children or grandchildren at the same time as caring for ageing parents. All this has led to finding ways of working later in life, to afford the extra financial pressures.

Thankfully, due to technological wonders like the internet, we have found many ways to create a passive income. This, in turn, provides debt relief, freedom to travel, and the ability to spoil our grandchildren. 🙂

I would say this generation is very engaged, wouldn’t you? Often overlooked due to their age, this is a large segment of the population we should be connecting with online.

Those who are already marketing online should be putting more focus on this generation. As you can see, in the above infographic, many are engaging with social media. In fact, many women are looking for promotional deals there. What a perfect place to be focusing your advertisements.

Look at the percentage viewing YouTube. That’s an incredible medium to target this group if you love making videos.
