Who Is This Software For?

I believe this product is best suited for marketers with eCom experience.

I know it says it’s newbie-friendly, but if you don’t have any experience with dropshipping or any sort of eCommerce store, you’ll struggle with this.

Sure, the software itself is easy to use, but you need to know how to source your products before you can upload anything.

And then there are all the upfront costs of purchasing your inventory if you’re not dropshipping.

And all the hours required to keep your store updated with new stock or adjusting your stock availability.

This software is fine, but there’s much more involved with eCom businesses than just the software.

How Does It Work?

Not only is this a store builder, but it creates stunning videos, generates buyer leads, and drives massive traffic.

Well, at least that’s what they claim. Let’s see what else the sales page says…

Sales Page

This is a long sales page with a lot of information and some hype. But nothing over the top. Some hype is expected… after all, it is a sales page.

I’ll share the important details with you, OK?

So not only can this software create product videos, but it also:

  • Performs SEO optimization for ready-made traffic.
  • Generates social media traffic.
  • Capture leads for repeat sales
  • Is optimized for mobile devices.
  • Have built-in live chat support.

The owner says it’s newbie-friendly with VIP support and full training provided.

Ecommerce is not a newbie-friendly industry, so let’s hold off on that claim…

You can get this system to work in 3 simple steps:

Step #1: Register with your user ID and password.

Step #2: Add images, details, and the price to ready your listing.

Step #3: Generate posts & reviews to share on social media.

They go on to say that the biggest reason why most people don’t succeed online is that they don’t know how to drive traffic to their sites.

That’s very true, but are they saying this software is the solution?

They list many more impressive features:

  • Policy page templates
  • Many major payment app integrations
  • List recommended or similar products
  • Inventory and shipping management
  • Testimonial builder
  • Email/SMS templates
  • Theme modifications
  • And much more…

Some great advantages are that you won’t need to get hosting, page builders, or tracking links.

I wonder if all this is available with the front end product only?

You’ll also read what they consider to be the value of each feature, but remember, this is a sales page and these values are hyped up! They want you to think their one-time price offer is too good to pass up!

Please be aware that the money-back guarantee is only for 14 days!

They say if they can’t personally fix your issue, they will give you a refund.

OK, now let’s see if the product does what it promises…

Member Area/Dashboard

When you access your dashboard, this is what you’ll see…

Your training will come in the form of your “Live Webinars” so you’ll probably have to register for those.

Some upsell tabs (the paid plan) will require paid plugins to perform those actions.

Store Management

Dashboard

The dashboard will show your overall stats on how many orders you’ve received, your income, etc. As you scroll down the page, you’ll get additional stats such as:

  • How many site viewers on each day.
  • Your personal login times.
  • The last 10 orders with name, etc.
  • Your last 10 returns and refunds.
  • Your last 10 customers with name and phone number.
  • Your last 10 subscribers.
  • Your last 10 inquiries.

Catalogue (Some upsells)

This section is where you would upload your products and create your collections.

You can create detailed listings, as shown in the image below, but be aware that the following options are upsells only.

The upsell paid plugins, which you can purchase right on the platform, are:

  • Product Variant Management – $10 per year
  • Taxation Management – $10 per year
  • Ratings & Review – $10 per year

Orders & Returns

This is where you would see all your orders and/or refunds or exchanges. The list details:

  • Order ID number
  • Customer name
  • Dollar amount
  • Quantity of products
  • Order date

When you click on one, you can view the customer’s personal information as well as the products included in his order.

Audience

As each customer purchases something from your store, their details are stored here. You’ll get access to:

  • The customer’s name, email, mobile phone number and date added.
  • Your email subscriber list.
  • Your WhatsApp subscriber list.
  • Any inquiries made.

To be able to integrate your own autoresponder, you need to have purchased the first upsell and be on the paid plan.

The autoresponder that can be added are:

  1. Mailchimp
  2. Constant Contact
  3. GetResponse

Testimonial (Upsell)

If you would like to add buyer satisfaction testimonials to your store, it would increase your customer engagement and relationships, brand awareness, and social proof to your viewers.

You need to purchase the “Add testimonials” plugin for $10 per year…

Manage Staff (Upsell)

If you’ve purchased the first upsell, you can add team members to the platform as your staff.

This requires another plugin called:

  • Add Staff Accounts at $45 per year.

Marketing (Some upsells)

This section includes:

  • Coupons
  • SEO
  • Popup Management
  • Webmaster Tools
  • Tracking & Analytics

With the front end product, you can add Google Analytics and webmaster tools from the 4 top search engines.

The remaining options are with the first upsell and require more paid plugins:

  • Offer Coupons On Your Store – $10 per year
  • SEO Automatic – $15 per year
  • Add a PopUp on your Online Store – $10 per year
  • Enable FaceBook Pixel – $5 per year

Reports (One upsell)

Traffic Reports

When you need to check how well your site is doing, there are reports you can access for specific needs:

  • Site Wise – graph or list
  • Product Wise – list
  • Collection Wise – list
  • Product Specific – graph or list
  • Collection Specific – graph or list

The first upsell provides you with the option to view geo-location reports but need to purchase:

  • GEO-Location Report – $10 per year

Sales Over Time

You can view your orders using different metrics such as:

  • From/to date
  • Group by day, week, month, quarterly or yearly

The results show up on a graph as well as in a list.

Customize your Website

When you click on this tab, your store’s website will pop up with the ability to edit…

As you hover your mouse over different areas, the edit options appear.

For instance, when you hover over the header box, you can choose between 3 header templates for your site. If you want to add new areas, you have these options:

  • Sliders
  • New Arrivals
  • Category Section
  • Hot Brands
  • Post
  • subscribe For Email
  • Banner
  • Tag wise Products
  • Custom Category
  • Subscribe For WhatsApp

Each of these options has templates to choose from so no designing experience is necessary.

Business Information

This is where you would enter your basic store information. You can upload your logo and favicon image as well as your contact information.

You should also add an “About Us” description in your footer, as well as a map location if you have a physical location.

Taxation & Courier Management (Upsell)

These sections are part of the unlimited upsell and require paid plugins.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t get any more information on these plugins…

Settings

This is where you would set your regional settings such as your time zone and current format, and enter your chosen sub-domain name if you don’t want to purchase your own.

A sub-domain on this platform would look like…

www.yourstorename.upstorz.com

This is what your customers would see in the search bar.

You also have the option to purchase and connect your own domain name with the upsell. I recommend you purchase your own name to look more professional.

What confused me was your need to purchase another plugin for $20?

Do they not integrate with domain names purchased with any other registry? This plugin also doesn’t provide email accounts, which is available with other registries…

There are many more edits you can make for your site such as cookie settings, AI chat settings, etc. There are also upsell features you can add with these purchased plugins:

  • Buy Domain with Privacy – $20
  • Make My Site Private – $45 per year
  • Min/Max Order Quantity for B2B Sellers – $30 per year
  • WaterMark Setting – $5

Payment Gateway

There seem to be only 2 payment gateways available:

  • Cash On Delivery – With this payment method, the financial transaction occurs outside the system. This means the order status must be manually updated once payment has been made.
  • Manual Payment

Yet, the sales page describes “Stripe”, “PayPal”, “2CheckOut” and “Authorize.net” as additional options.

So are these not yet available, or is my review copy broken…

Email/SMS templates

You can find your email templates here, and choose between all the various notification, such as order confirmation, order sent, order cancelled, etc…

The highlighted areas are those that are able to be edited. The SMS templates work the same way.

Plugins/Apps

You can see all the plugins that are available here.

A few are free, such as the autoresponder integration, the ones I’ve listed above, and additional options to make your business management easier.

Store Policies

This section opens up in a basic editor where you can create your policies.

All businesses should have a privacy policy, terms & conditions, and refund & cancellation policies.

My Concerns

I have some concerns with UpStorz

I think this product is well done and looks very professional. And I believe the software does most of what the sales page says.

I say “most” because I came across a few discrepancies and concerns I’d like to share with you…

Concern #1 – Discrepancies

Nowhere in the review product did I find the video creator that’s mentioned on the sales page, or how I could link any social media sites for sharing.

Now, this could either be because the product isn’t finalized yet (then it shouldn’t have been launched) or these features are part of the paid plan.

Either way, it’s frustrating when the product doesn’t provide all the promises on the sales page.

Concern #2 – Limited Front End

The front end product is quite limited, so anyone seriously wanting to get into eCommerce with their own store should purchase the first upsell which is the paid plan.

The upsell talks about unlimited products, which confirms that the front end only allows a small number.

What was frustrating was that I couldn’t determine how many that was, nor did the sales page say anything about this.

And many of the features shown on the dashboard are only available if you’re on the paid plan.

It could work without all the additional plugins but really limits how you present your listings and how you’d market your store.

Concern #3 – Plugins?

Nowhere does it say you’d have to purchase any plugins for certain features. Even the first upsell page doesn’t mention this.

They talk about the features but don’t tell you it’s going to cost you additional yearly fees.

If you purchased all the options they currently have on the platform, it would cost you $880 upfront, with renewal fees of $240 per year.

Concern #4 – Personal Domain Name

From what I could see inside the platform, you would need to purchase a plugin to register your own domain name.

This is ridiculous. You should be able to register your own anywhere and transfer it to the platform.

Now I could be wrong, but after looking around, I found no means of doing that…

Concern #5 – Will This Be Around For Long?

Though I believe this is a great product, please consider that if you purchase the front end product for a one-time price, there’s no guarantee it will be around in a year or two.

The fact that they offer a paid plan shows that they’re probably going to consider updates for paying members for the foreseeable future, but there’s no way to know for sure.

And though they say this is much cheaper than “Shopify”, that’s misleading too.

Shopify offers a plan for $29 per month, so it’s $9 more than this product, but…

  • It’s a proven platform that’s continually updated and stable.
  • It offers reliable customer service and offers many blogs, guides, forums, etc. for additional training.
  • They offer free tools that do what you’d have to pay for in a plugin with UpStorz.

Concern #6 – Newbie-Friendly?

Nope, I don’t agree. If you have no experience in eCommerce, you’ll struggle with all that needs to be maintained.

Do you know where to get your inventory? Is it dropshipping or will you have storage fees to consider?

There are often upfront costs for retaining any inventory, as well as possible costs for return shipping.

And don’t forget the many hours that are needed to maintain your inventory levels, as well as customer service for questions, refunds or exchanges.

Concern #7 – Advertising?

The sales page talks about the ability to share to social media sites directly from the platform.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t see where this was available. I didn’t find any place where I would add my site URLs for sharing.

Did you know that even if you could share with your social media accounts, you won’t generate leads or sales unless you have a HUGE following?

This is why they’re offering Facebook Ads training as a bonus. Many successful eCommerce stores use paid advertising to drive traffic to their stores!

Final Thoughts And Recommendations

I recommend Wealthy Affiliate for newbie training

I believe this product is well done, though I’m unsure about the long-term stability of a one-time cost product.

I truly don’t think this is a newbie-friendly product or eCommerce being an easy way to start your first business venture online.

And because of the upsells and additional costs, I would recommend a “cautious” yes to UpStorz.

Is UpStorz a scam?   No

Would I recommend it?   Cautious Yes

EComm has proven to be successful for many business owners, but it has a huge learning curve and takes many hours to set up and maintain.

This is something that you’d have to commit to for many years to become successful.

If you’re a beginner to online marketing, I highly recommend you start with something much easier like blogging and affiliate marketing.
